We visited Utah for 2 weeks in July to visit families and friends. TJ got to fish a lot this time and he was super happy!

I can't believe there were still snow up in the mountains in July.

Went up to Park City to get away. We missed our baby more than he missed us...

This is where we got engaged. It seems so long ago, but it was nice to go back there to visit.

We didn't do much there...we just relaxed at our hotel.

I had some time to meet up with my sister and we visited the Temple Square.

Koe loved all the attention he got from his grandma and his cousins! He got to pet the dogs, cats, feed chickens, jump on a trampoline, and picked fresh raspberries from Grandma's garden.

Back in Ohio! Daddy let him play in the rain!

Last weekend we visited my sister in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. Koe's first time in a lake! The weather was perfect and the water was so clear...

Getting so big...

Last week our computer crashed (we bought it last year!), and we had to get a new hard drive...which means we lost all the videos, photos, and etc...luckily we had saved them on memory cards...

I had to live without a computer for several days and realized how much my life depended on technologies...it's kind of sad...not that I would get rid of our computer or anything...

Anyway, I'm grateful for warranties and having our computer back :)

Update on Koe...

Lately, I just can't believe how fast he's growing up and I can't keep up with him. He's starting his "terrible twos" and can throw pretty impressive tantrums. He runs so fast, and I have to run after him like a mad giant.

He doesn't like to be told "NO!" and copies me...so all he says is NO! He's learning some new words both Japanese and English. He says "mamma" whenever he wants something...it means Food in Japanese, but his nursery teacher thought he was wanting me during his class...which was not the case.

Speaking of nursery, he loves his class. He was only 17 months old but one Sunday he just took off somewhere after sacrament and I found him in the class...ever since then he's been going.

We call him our garbage disposal. He's eating 24/7. After his meal, he still begs for our food and throws a huge fit if we don't give him anything...At least he's not a picky eater...plus he's still pretty skinny.

Boys' Day

Boys' Day is back again. 5/5/11...

We didn't do much but since TJ was at work all day, we went to a pet store to look at some cute animals, and then headed to a park.

As usual, I made him some Sushi, miso soup, and bought some mini cupcakes for dessert. You can tell by these pictures that he loves chocolate!!

Easter Weekend 2011

My sister moved to Michigan so we were able to drive up for the Easter Weekend. Koe loved being around his cousins, and they were so sweet to him.

Koe's first Easter egg hunt. I need to post an egg hunt video clip later...He was too little last year, so he really enjoyed eating Candy this year!! I gave him crackers in his eggs but of course, he was sneaky and stole many candies from his cousins baskets...TJ and I caught him eating candies in Hannah's princess tent.

今年の復活祭は望の家族と過ごすことができました。最近姉家族はここから２時間弱の所に引っ越してきたので、これからどんどん一緒に集まる事ができるのでとっても嬉しいです。特に光ちゃんは従弟達とってもかわいがってもらって本当に楽しそうでした。タマゴ探しのビデオ後で載せます。

光チャンのタマゴには赤ちゃん用のクラッカーとかいれたのに、みんなの見ていないところでキャンディー泥棒していました。花ちゃんのピンクのプリンスセステントのなかで一人でこっそりチョコのビュッフェしてたよ。

He ate concrete for Easter Breakfast...ouch!! He showed up to church with a bloody face. He got more candies from his cousins because they felt bad for him.

教会行く前にコンクリートでけがしました。これはまだ新しい傷。この後黒くなってめっちゃブサイクになってしまいました。トホホ。

Since Koe stopped nursing few months ago, he eats a crazy amount of food...sometimes, I worry I feed him too much, but he's such a skinny little thing I just feed him whenever he begs...

It amazes me how much this kid wants to eat...I can't believe how he survived with little food and breast milk for so long!

光ちゃんは数ヶ月前に断乳したので、最近もうスゴい量を食べまくります。相撲取り並みです。よく母乳とちょっとのご飯で生きれたなって思うくらいもうずーっと食べてます。あげ過ぎかなぁって思うけど、めっちゃ細いし。よく教会でも細いなぁって言われる。1才検診の時体重が全然増えてなかったけど、この調子じゃ、ちょっと増えてるかも。楽しみ。

St. Patrick's Day

TJ had a day off on St. Patrick's Day so we decided to take Koe to a park. It was little warmer that week and I totally miss the warm weather! Koe was born in Winter so he hasn't really had a chance to go play in a park and run around...he didn't really know what to do there...just exploring.

お久しぶりです。いったんブログをさぼるとまた始めるのがちょっと面倒臭いんです。でもがんばります。

この日はちょっとした祭日だったので家族で公園に。冬に産まれたベビーの光ちゃんはまだ公園で遊ぶ事を知りません。ちょっと歩いて探検です。

He actually like to swing I promise...he is so not camera friendly sometimes...

ブランコも無表情。結構楽しんでるのに、カメラには全然笑顔をみせない。

"What are these??" He discovered sand. He couldn't get enough of it!

It was a learning experience for me......not to interfere his fun with my fear of animal poop, or getting sand everywhere in his mouth, closes, car, house and etc...I had fun playing outside as a kid, and I want him to like playing outside too...

As a mom, sometimes I feel like, "Koe is not doing much here at a park, so let's go home and relax..." but I remember my mom would let us play until we were ready to go home...which took us hours to get to that point. I'm glad she did it for us. She didn't drive back then so she took 4 of us by her bike, bus, or a train....so we can explore many different parks instead of a boring same small park everyday...She always went that extra mile for us...I can't believe she did that for us. That's a lot of work!

So I want Koe to have fun too...I know this is just a common sense to a lot of moms out there, but I am kind of a new mom, and learning to put Koe's interest first than mine...it's harder than it seems...

砂を発見。ずーっと遊んでました。私は砂場でよく犬猫ウンチに出くわしてたのでちょっと不安。案の定すぐ横に発見。ちょっと離してまた遊ぶ。でも自分が気持ち悪いからって子供の楽しさを奪ったらアカンなぁ、って最近よく思う。もう砂だらけになって靴にも砂が入って、いつもやったら車が砂だらけになるとか、食べてしまうとかもう神経質になってしまうけど、光ちゃんはもう小さい赤ん坊じゃないんだと思うと、子供らしく遊ぶ事を学んで欲しいと願います。

小さい頃、よくお母さんがいつも同じ公園やったらつまんないからといってわざわざ遠い浜寺公園とかもっと遠い公園に４人連れて、バス、電車にのって連れて行ってくれたのを思い出しました。しかも何時間も疲れるまで遊ばせてくれた。今新米のママになってそれがどれだけしんどいか分かる。よく、今家の片付けできる、ゆっくりしたい、教会の責任で誰々さんにメールせなアカンとか考えて帰りたくなるけど、光ちゃんの事を一番に考えてあげる事を学んでいる私です。たぶん、沢山のママにとったら簡単な事かもしれんけど、ママ業１年目の私には学びの機会です。

Flood is here!!! Our town had a pretty bad flood in 2007, looks like it's going to be a similar situation...

It's a blessing we're not in a flooding area, but we drove into downtown, and the whole city is flooded! Yikes. It's weird to see our town under water...sandbags everywhere...

Hope it goes away soon...

Koe's first birthday

We celebrated Koe's birthday just us (like 3 months ago!) I thought about throwing a Party or something, but we were all so tired from returning back from Japan, and wanted to have do it little privately.

TJ and I spent most of the day baking Koe's cake ;) I just baked the cake, and made the frosting and TJ did all the rest of the work! (Dressing up the Panda bear)

TJ got him a little classic hand made toy with a cute hammer. He loves it and takes the hammer everywhere.

Man, this was a lot of work...black frosting is actually all chocolate cream with black coloring.

This is before he started eating the cake. He just started licking off his fingers but the coloring was so dark, his face just turned BLACK.

Sayonara Japan

TJ's 2 week vacation in Japan was over so I took him to a Japanese garden near by. We bought some Koi fish food and fed the fish...They are so close, TJ could touch them if he wanted to...

TJの２週間の休暇もあっという間に過ぎ、最後に家のちかくの大仙公園の日本庭園に家族で散歩にいきました。ここは鯉の餌をあげることができるんですが、何しろあまりにも近すぎて鯉に触れそう。ちょっといっぱいいすぎて気持ち悪いんやけど。

もう紅葉がとっても奇麗で。暖かくて光ちゃんもご機嫌。

When TJ first arrived in Japan, he was surprised so many people had kids riding on bikes with them. Some people have like 3 kids on them...

TJ and Koe enjoyed cruising the neighborhood a lot!

TJは始め日本に着いた時、自転車に子供を何人も乗せている人たちをみてびっくりしていました。ちょっと危ないんちゃうと言って心配していたのに、途中から光ちゃんを乗せて自転車で近所を走るのが大好きになってました。

After we dropped TJ off at the airport, we took Koe to the Tenohji Zoo.

Jiji is kept giving Koe his ice cream, which I was not very happy about...

TJを空港に送って行った後、みんなで天王寺動物園に行きました。じいじは光ちゃんに隠れて何回もソフトクリームをあげていた。光ちゃん、めっちゃ欲しそうに見てるし。

Mom invited the missionaries for Thanksgiving. She makes Thanksgiving dinner every year for the missionaries. Turkey is not available in Japan, but thank goodness to Costco. Mom buys tons of American stuff from there.

感謝祭は宣教師をよんで七面鳥を食べました。ばあば、ほんとうに忙しいのにたくさんおいしい食事をつくってくれてありがとう。

We took Koe to see our Great Aunts.

帰る前に大叔母様たちに会いに行ってきました。めっちゃ光ちゃんかわいがってくれました。もう９０代なのにうちの孫達全員を覚えていてくれてます。

Koe got to play with his second cousins. They were so good with him. We'll miss you guys!

ゆまくんとうみちゃん（従弟の子供達）にいっぱい遊んでもらいました。本当に優しい子達で光ちゃんは感激です。ありがとう。

Japan Trip Ise part 2

I'm back in Ohio so I need to catch up on my blog! Here are some pics from Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) in Hamajima.

We changed into this yukata robe to just relax. They even had TJ's size!

クリスマスの休暇から帰ってきたのでまたブログ開始です。

日本の旅ももうすぐ終わりで、今回は伊勢パート２です。

今回は初めて浜島というところに泊まりました。とっても奇麗な所でびっくりです。

TJのサイズの浴衣もあってラッキー。

The view was amazing. We could see the Gulf of Ise from our room.

お部屋からの伊勢湾の景色は最高でした。お外にはジェットバスもついていてかなり嬉しかったです。本当は寒いはずなのにとっても暖かくてとっても満喫させてもらいました。

Koe loved the outside tub.

光ちゃんもお外でお風呂を楽しんでました。

Before dinner, we walked down to their beach. The sunset was absolutely beautiful and the water was so clear.

食事とお風呂の前にホテルの浜辺まで散歩しました。ホテルの名前は夕雅。字の通りとっても夕日がきれいでした。水もとっても透明で海好きのTJはもうはりきりまくり。

After the beach, we went to hot springs, and had dinner. Ise is famous for this Gigantic shrimp. Food was amazing.

Ise trip part 1 伊勢　パート１

We took 2 day trip to Ise. Our first stop was Ise-Shrine. Ise is a very special place for the Shinto-religion (they are not Buddhist), since it has the biggest and the oldest Shinto shrine there.

伊勢へ１泊旅行しに行きました。伊勢はいいなぁ、いつ行っても。伊勢神宮はとってもきれかったです。ちゃんと参拝してきました。

TJは鯉ばっかり見てた。

Next, we walked down the Okage-yokocho to get some lunch. This street has many stands which gives you lots of samples, and fun souvenir shops.

We always stop at "Sushi-Hisa" for lunch. This place started in Meiji era (long, long, long time ago) :) and has amazing food!

伊勢神宮のあとは、恒例のおかげ横町。とっても楽しいお土産屋さんがいっぱい！しかもおいしい干物焼いて試食できるお店とか何かと食べることが多い。

お昼はすし久。いつもここ。ここ、明治初めに始まってお店もすごく味があって雰囲気最高！五十鈴川の横なので景色もいいです。

名物はてごね寿司、麦とろ、ひつまぶし。TJははりきって、てごね寿司御膳を。カツオの刺身を醤油に漬けて、すし飯の上にのせて麦とろかけてマゼマゼして食べるの。おいしい！

私はひつまぶし。うなぎです！それも麦とろと。

Inside this restaurant. Great atmosphere. It was one of the oldest places on this street. Most of these traditional places requires you to take your shoes off before you can enter further.

After Ise, we head down to Toba.

伊勢の後、鳥羽の方まで。

This is a really gross picture, but this is a Japanese toilet. First time TJ saw this, he was like, "How do you do it??"

TJは和式トイレの写真ちゃっかし撮ってた。ごめん、汚い写真のせて。TJは初めてこれ見た時戸惑いを隠せませんでした。

We went to a Peal city. This is where the famous Pearl company "Mikimoto" started, so they have lots of pearl jewelry stores. You can buy pearls for amazing prices!

Starting at around $20, you can buy cute pearl jewelries, and just $5 for fresh water pearls. What a deal! Of course, I saw some HUGE pearl necklaces for close to $20,000...

パールシティ。ここ、あの有名な真珠のミキモトがはじまったとこ。だからめっちゃ真珠のお店多し。かなりいいお値段で真珠買えます。本真珠なら安いので２０００円くらいから、淡水真珠なら５００円くらいで可愛いジュエリー買えます。

Kyoto 京都

Kyoto is my favorite place to visit in Japan. I love everything about this city.

Mom took us to Kiyomizu Temple, and the view was amazing.

日本に帰ったら、絶対行く所が京都。京都はほんまに素晴らしい。日本人でよかったなぁっていつも思います。今年の紅葉はとっても奇麗くて、８年に一度の紅葉だったらしいです。１１月にいけてよかったぁ。

いつもの定番、清水寺にいってまいりました。

We have our family grave in Kiyomizu Temple, so we always stop by to put some flowers. TJ thought it was weird to take a picture in front of the grave, but I don't care.

清水寺にうちのお墓があるので、おじいちゃん、おばあちゃんにご挨拶。

This year, the leaves changed colors so beautifully that they say it was the best in the past 8 years. We chose to visit Japan in November so we could see these leaves.

After Kiyomizu, we stopped by some souvenir shops. TJ loves this giant Japanese Raccoon for a stupid reason.

清水寺の後はいつもお土産屋さんをみてまわります。びっくりしたことにはTJは八つ橋に結構はまってた。信楽たぬきが大好きなのでパチリ。

Our next stop was Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Temple. The leaves were also amazing there!

次は金閣寺へ。ここも紅葉がかなり奇麗でしたよ。

Nara Trip 奈良の大仏と春日大社

My Dad took us to Nara to see the Big Buddha, and the Kasuga Temple. They believe deers are the messengers of God, so the city is filled with hundreds of deers...We told TJ about the deers, but he thought there were just few of them. There are stands everywhere which sells deer crackers so people can feed them. Tourists doesn't know that these deers can be rough! My dad got some crackers since it was TJ's first time, and of course in minutes he was surrounded by so many of them! They bit my dad so Koe got scared.

うちのじぃじが奈良の大仏と春日大社をみに週末奈良まで連れて行ってくれました。動物好きなTJなので鹿を見るのが楽しみやったみたいです。でもいざ着いてみると、何百匹といたのでめっちゃたまげてた！なんか動物園みたいなもんかなぁと思ってたみたい。

観光客の人たちは鹿せんべいを買うと、鹿に襲われる事をしらんのでみているのが楽しいんですが、TJが初めてなのでうちのジィジは鹿せんべいを買いました。即、襲われました。大きいのんが、せんべいくれー！って噛むんです。

じぃじは痛い！って叫んで光ちゃんもびっくりして泣いてしまいました。

This is To-Dai-Ji, the World's largest, and one of the oldest wooden buildings. There's a Big Buddha inside.

世界で一番大きい木造の建物。東大寺は本当にデカい！感動でした。

I can never get sick of seeing this Buddha! It's height is almost 53 feet tall. The original was built in the 8th century, but they had to repair it so many times and it was completed again in the 16th century.

いつ見ても飽きへんなぁ。大仏さん。１６メートルもあるんやって。でかい。やっぱり、歴史が違うよね。

大仏の後は春日大社へ。とっても暖かく、きれいな日でした。

We loved the beautiful Red Japanese Maple trees.

紅葉がきれかった！

This weekend was a special day for 7, 5, and 3 year olds. It's our tradition to take our 7 and 3 yr girls, and 5 yr boys to the temple to receive blessings. There were so many cute girls who were wearing beautiful kimonos everywhere!

七五三やったのでめっちゃかわいい女の子がいっぱい！写真いっぱい撮ってしまった。

There are some well mannered deers around this Temple. They actually bow and beg the crackers. Those are the super cute ones!

観光客がちょっと少なめのとこに行くと、すごくかわいい鹿さんたちでいっぱいです。鹿せんべい欲しさにお辞儀するんです。

Osaka Castle and Kaiyukan Aquariam 大阪城と海遊館

Mom took us to Osaka Castle. Mums were in season to there were so beautiful. Some Football mums were bigger than Koe's head

大阪城に連れて行ってもらいました。菊が盛りでとっても綺麗でしたよ。なかには光ちゃんの頭よりも大きなものも。

These are all mums! They created a waterfall of mums. When the white ones blooms they will look like a waterfall.

菊でできた滝。白いのが咲くと滝になるらしいのです。

Our next stop was Kaiyukan. It's one of the biggest aquariums. They have two Whale Sharks. They were HUGE!! I've never seen them eat, but they were feeding him tons of planktons.

次は海遊館へ。とっても楽しかった。ペンギンや、アシカ、いろんなお魚。でも一番よかったのはやっぱりジンベイサメ。今までプランクトンを食べているところなんてみたことなかったけど、この日はバケツいっぱいもらってました。

We went shopping afterwards and they all carry kids carts with different cartoon characters. This is Anpan-man! Koe's loving this.

お買いもの。日本ではお決まりのキャラクターカート。もちろん光ちゃんはアンパンマン。

TJ got into these archade games. He didn't stop until he got what he wanted!

TJは意外とゲームセンターにはまり、ずっとほしいものがとれるまで諦めなかった。

My mom said "Pretty good for a being a beginner."

She's a pro at these games. She used to get tons of huge candies, and toys for her grandkids with couple of dollars.
Good job TJ, I'm so proud of you.

とれました。ブサイクうさぎ。でも本人はとっても嬉しそう。光ちゃんのためにとってくれたのね。うちのお母さんはもうすごいプロなので、初心者のわりにはうまいやんと褒めてくれてました。このばあばは百円、二百円で千円以上のキャンディーやおもちゃをとるのが得意なのです。すごいね、孫のためなら何でもするばあば。

Japan Trip part 1 日本旅行　パート１

I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since we arrived here in Japan. TJ flew home this morning, and we miss him already! We had so much fun just traveling and experience new things together as a family.

日本についてあっという間に２週間が経ちました。TJは今日アメリカへ帰国したので寂しいです。わたしと光ちゃんはまだ日本を満喫させてもらってまっせー。

This is Koe just getting ready for the big trip in the morning. We stayed in D-town since our flight was pretty early.

これは出発前夜デトロイトのホテルで。翌朝の飛行機は朝早かったので。

He did very well on the plane, but it was too long! He slept pretty well, and nursed most of the time. Our seats were awesome since TJ was able to stretch his legs. I don't even want to think about flying back with Koe WITHOUT TJ............it was awful.

光ちゃんはとってもお利口さんでしたが、飛行時間は思っていたよりも長くとっても疲れた！TJはちょっと足が伸ばせる席だったので長身の彼にはラッキーでした。帰りのことは考えたくないな。一人で光ちゃんを連れて帰るのんいやや。

Yay! We are in Osaka. First day in Japan. Mom took us to downtown Osaka. This area is called, "Kuidaore"...which means, "Eat til you drop!" We love to eat, eat, and eat! This whole street is filled with restaurants and stands, and people just keep eating while they walk through this road.

大阪に着きましたで。一日目はカメラをちょっと買いたかったので南までお買い物にオカンに連れて行ってもらいました。ついでに食い倒れへ。TJはいっぱい看板見てびっくりしてたで。たこ焼き食べたよ。

この食い倒れの人形小っちゃいころは怖くて泣いてたんよね。今でも夢にたまに出てくるで。ちょっと後ろの女のひと怪しい。

大阪はうるさい、派手な看板が多い！でもTJがかなりびっくりしてたのはこの男の人たちのファション。髪の毛が逆毛で大きい。しかもみんなカバン持ち。アメ人の彼には珍しいみたい。

One of the things TJ was suprised about Japan was men's fashion. It's hard to tell from this picture, but these guys had serious hair style. They were teased like they had bump-its in their hair, and dressed very feminine. They all had fancy man purse!

Koe became a Robot for Halloween this year. Our church Halloween Party was coming up and we totally forgot to get him a costume for it, so we just decided to make a really ghetto Robot outfit. TJ and I had fun making it. We even had a helmet to go with it, but it just didn't work out so we decided to take advantage of his long hair and made antennas.

Lots of kids came up and said,

"Oh, he's a TV!"

That works too, I guess...

光ちゃんは今年はコボット（光ボット）になりました。教会のハローウィンパーティーが２週間前にあったのですが、面倒くさかったのとすっかり忘れていたのとでコスチュームをその日に作るはめに。という事で、めっちゃ手作りロボットです。

TJと私は結構楽しんで工作しました。ヘルメットまで作ったのに、どうしてもかぶるとキモイぐらい駄作だったので急遽、長い髪の毛を利用してアンテナを作ることに。トホホ。

教会ではたくさんの子供たちが寄ってきて、

あっ！テレビやろ？

って聞いてきました。たしかに昭和臭さをにおわせるテレビかも。アンテナとかついてるし。液晶じゃありません。

Koe said "Da-ddy" today. It was weird. I can't believe in the next few years, he will be able to say things back to me. Right now, it's all me talking...by myself everyday, all day.

I took him to church tonight for a Baptism. While everyone was quiet and reverent while they played a piano, he was out there dancing and showing off his moves.

I wonder what he'll start doing tomorrow?...

ハイ、チーズって光ちゃん！めっちゃ目つぶってるし。

今日は光ちゃん、はっきりとダディーって言えました。今は私ひとりでいつも喋ってるけど、あと何年かしたらちゃんとこの子と会話できるんやと思ったら、変な感じです。

今晩教会でバプテスマ会があったので連れていったんやけど、賛美歌のピアノ演奏を皆はちゃんと静かに聞いていたのに、この人ひとりでノリノリ。しかも動きが何か怪しい。敬虔な気持ちもぶっ飛んでいきました。

His first word is.....

"Da-da"

I've tried to make him say "momma", but he prefers "Da-da"...He can kinda say "Amen" too.

I've been praying with him before every meal, so today when I put him in his chair and put a bib on, he just knew what was coming next, and folded his arms and was ready to bless the food.

He also started to dance to a music, and it's pretty funny to watch.

He can make a Pirate face with is one eye closed, and his bottom lip sticking out, and say "Arrrrg"...this cracks us up every time.

Watching Koe grow is amazing. I can't get over how much he learns everyday.

光ちゃんは毎日新しい事を始めます。

光ちゃんの初めての言葉は、ダダ（ダディー）でした。マミーっていうよりやっぱりダダの方が言いやすいみたい。でもTJはとっても嬉しそう。めっちゃ私に羨ましいやろぅみたいな顔してきた。ほんまに、もう。教えたのは私やっちゅうねん。

でもアーメンもなんとなく言えます。毎日ご飯食べる前にお祈りするんやけど、椅子に座らせて、前掛けをかけると、もう次ぎが何か分かってるんやろね、今日はちゃんと自分の手を胸の前で握ってアーメンの姿勢をして待ち構えてました。もう、食べる事になると必死や。やっぱり、TJと私の子供。

全然興味なかった音楽にも反応するようになって、昨晩急にテレビの音楽に合わせてダンスを始めた光ちゃん。まだリズム感完璧ではありませんが、ジュリアナの女の子みたいに踊れます。

光ちゃんのオモシロ顔を見るたびにかなりウケる、私とTJ。何を思ってか、なぜか、海賊顔ができます。片目を閉じて（ウィンク）うけぐちして、ヴワーォっていって威嚇します。うちらのどっちかがいつもこんな顔してるのを見て真似してるんかねえ。

汚い話なので英語では書きませんが、（っていうか、あんまり英語人は分かってくれそうもないので）最近私とTJは季節の変わり目でちょっとのどがガラガラしていてタンを吐くたびにすごい音がでます。ガーッって。分かるでしょ？（家の中だけです、外ではしません）

最近まで光ちゃんはその音を聞くたびにめっちゃビビってあわてて抱っこしてもらいに来てたのに、昨日からもう慣れちゃって真似しはじめた！恥ずかし！しかも真似するたびにツバがピュッ、ピュッてでてるし！もう、汚いって！ほんまに悔い改めました。赤ちゃんやのに、もうちゃんと見てるのね。恐ろしや。

すごいよね、赤ちゃんの成長って。毎日違うあかちゃんみたいです。

Koe just started to do this today. He wasn't even interested in pushing this toy yesterday, but he kept playing with it all day :) TJ and I were surprised. When TJ encouraged him to stand up and push it, he just got up and started walking really fast...like he was saying "Well, I'm going to a store, see ya!"

光ちゃんは今日急にこれをしだしました。今まで見向きもしなかったのに。赤ちゃんってすごいね。TJが一緒に遊んでて、押すように助けてあげると、急にさよならーって感じで超早歩きでスタスタとおして歩いて行きました。びっくりしたけど、おもしろかった。今では気がつけば押してます。壁にぶつかるとちゃんと自分で動かして向きを変えておしつづけます。

I think Koe has been teething since 3 months old...he's getting his 7th tooth...that means, TJ and I are still waking up several times a night. :)

He is a strong boy and he can do all kinds of things now.

He copies faces, noises, raise his hand, and can stand on his own for about 5 seconds.

He loves to turn off our computer whenever TJ and I are typing long emails and working on projects!

He loves Fruits, and his favorite is Banana Guacamole.

We are excited to visit Japan in November. TJ and Koe can meet my extended family and enjoy the bright red leaves in the mountains.

After Japan, we are visiting Grammy and Grandpa in Utah for Christmas.

I guess he's just a long and lean baby. He got his flu shot but didn't even notice he got one.

He's crawling faster everyday and gets into everything. He's attracted to anything he's not suppose to put in his mouth.

We finally got to visit my sister and her family in Texas! Koe was happy to see his cousins :)

Caden and Maya were so great with him. My sister and Cameron were so nice to have us there even though we decided to visit the night before.

週末に急に愛ちゃんのお家に遊びに行くことになり、愛ちゃんには本当にお世話になりました！でも念願いきたかったテキサスにいけることになって、かなり興奮したー。

恵伝と真椰ちゃんはとっても光ちゃんにやさしくしてくれたよ。恵伝はずっとだっこしてくれてました。ふたりともすっかり大きくなってびっくりしたー。

On Friday, they took us to the Alamo and the River Walk. It was beautiful. TJ is being a model. After that we drove to Austin for dinner.

金曜日にアラモの砦とリバーウォークへ連れてってもらいました。これはTJモデルぶってるところ。晩ご飯は首都のオースティンで。

恥ずかしながら、アラモって聞いた事があっても詳しい歴史はちょっと知らなかった。どうやら、テキサスがメキシコ人から攻撃された時に守り抜いた砦やしい。メキシコ側はとられた土地を取り戻そうとしてただけのことらしい。

Then on Saturday, we went to Sea World! It was my first time and I had an awesome time. This is the Beluga and Dolphin show.

土曜日はシーワールドへ。楽しかった！暑かったけど、TJとふたりで初めてジェットコースターとかに乗れてたのしかった。あの人、かなり高所恐怖症で思ったよりビビってたからおもしろかった。イルカショーや、大きいプールにもはいれてもう満喫しまくりました。

Time to go home...I think Koe was ready for his bed by the time we left...

Weekend Trip to Sandusky

TJ's friend from work, Jen was nice enough to invite us over at her parents house last weekend in Sandusky. It is right off of Lake Erie and we went swimming at the country club. Koe got to swim for the second time and he had so much fun with Jen and her Nephew.

先週TJの仕事仲間のジェンが彼女の両親のおうちがエリー湖のそばにあるのでご招待してくれました。このジェンさん、とってもやさしくていい人！光ちゃんをとってもかわいがってくれています。ずーっと抱っこしてくれてました。

エリー湖なんて別荘地のイメージないけど、いってみると観光客でいっぱい。カントリークラブのプールで泳がせてもらいました。

ジェンの甥っ子は光ちゃんとずーっと遊んでくれていました。子供好きな子供ってスゴいなーって思う。

We could see so many people swimming in the Lake...There were tons of Sail boats and yachts! Some of them were so big, and there was one boat that was probably triple the size of our apartment.

ごらんの通り、プールの横はすぐ湖。デッキもすぐよこでヨットやセーリングボートでいっぱい。ってか、かなりでかいボートがいっぱい止まってた！うちのアパートの余裕の３倍の大きさやった。えらいお金持ちそうな人たちが乗りこんでシャンパンとサラダを食べていた。その横で私らは赤ちゃんプールでジャブジャブと。でも、そんなお金あるんやったら、なんでエリー湖なんかに。。。と思う私。

It was nice walking by the lake but I don't think I want to swim in it...

みると結構奇麗な景色なんですけども、いざ泳ぐとなると。。。結構です。うーん、ちょっと臭そうやった。

After the pool we went back to her parents house and fished at the little pond...They had so many fish in them...I guess people feed them everyday.

TJ had fun!

プールの後またまたご両親のコンドへ。そこにあるめっちゃ小ちゃい小池で釣りをしました。なんせバスやブルーギルなんかが死ぬ程泳いでるやしく、毎日パンのえさまであたえられてるらしい。

釣り好きなTJはとっても楽しんだみたいです。

Koe can fake-crawl (with his arms) so lately, he's in a lot of trouble. Yesterday, I looked over from the Kitchen and he was holding on to a couch and standing up by himself. Then while I was scrapbooking and this is what he was doing...

It's kinda nice that he can play with his toys and entertain himself, but I can't just leave him alone anymore.

光ちゃんは最近ほふく前進をするようになったので色んな所に入り込めるようになりました。なんか息荒いのが聞こえるなと思っていたら、私のいるキッチンやトイレにはいってきたり、昨日なんか台所からみると一人でソファーにつかまって立っていたので、びっくりしました。

この写真は私がスクラップブッキングをしている間にうしろで毛糸玉であそんでいたの発見されたとこ。なんか茶そばみたい。

We took Koe to a pool for the first time. I think because he likes his bath time so much that swimming in a pool didn't bother him at all. He was happy in the water.

Zoo

Last weekend we went up to the Toledo Zoo. It was our first time at the zoo as a family....and it was stink'n HOT!

We had fun watching the animals but TJ and I enjoyed watching all the interesting people at the Zoo.

先週末にはじめて家族で動物園に行ってきました。トレド動物園はけっこうおおきくて楽しかったです。でも暑かった！

私とTJは動物を見るよりもいろんな人たちを観察してたような気がします。

Utah Trip

We just got back from our Utah trip...Koe got to meet his uncles, aunts, and his cousins for the first time. The trip was awesome.

１週間程ユタ州まで里帰りしてまいりました。時間差が２時間程あるので、オハイオの時間帯に慣れるまでまだ苦労してます。

光ちゃんはユタにまだ行った事がなかったので、飛行機の中でが心配でしたがとってもおりこうさんで、ずっと静かに遊んだり、寝てくれてました。よかったー。

Detroit Airport...the flight was way too early...you can see in TJ's face. Koe was FANTASTIC in the airplane. I was really worried he would be fussy but he was so quiet, played with his toys, nursed, and slept most of the time.

デトロイト空港。朝はやかったのでTJはまだ寝起き丸出し。ちなみに後ろに写ってる帽子かぶった人たち、どうやら中国人の尼さんのグループ。丸刈りの頭だったけど、よく見ると女の人たち。私の顔をみて中国語で話しかけられた。どうやら正しいゲートにきているのか知りたかった様子。身振り手振りで何とか切り抜ける。ああ、高校の時もっと中国語集中しとけばよかったと後悔。

Our first stop. Koe got to meet his Great Grandma :) He was happy to finally meet her. Wish we could visit her more often.

実家につく前に光ちゃんの曾ばあちゃん家によっていきました。このおばあちゃん、もうすぐ９０歳なのにまだ一人暮らし。すごい。しかも肝っ玉ばあちゃん。TJのおかあさんも肝っ玉かあちゃんやけど、この人の方が一枚上手。毎回会う度にびっくりさせられます。

His cousin Kayzia was a great big sister cousin. She wanted to hold Koe all day long.

いとこのケイジャちゃん。７歳だけど、とっても世話好き。光ちゃんをずーっとだっこしたがってました。お姉ちゃんと取り合いでちょっと大変だったけど、かわいがってもらって光ちゃんはとっても幸せでした。

BBQ with family.

７月４日は独立記念日。親戚一同あつまってバーベキューをしました。グランパ。とってもおもしろいです。この前自慢の口ひげをちょっと剃りすぎて薄くしてしまったので、グランマのマスカラを塗って真っ黒な口ひげで外に出てきたから、グランマからかなり怒られてた。本気でしてたから余計にすごものです。

光ちゃんにコーラをあげてるのを私にみつかり皆から怒られました。笑。

My little sister drove down with her husband to meet Koe. This is the Gunnison 4th of July Parade.

幸ちゃんとカイル君がアイダホから運転して光ちゃんに会いにきてくれました。ごたいめーん。これはガニソンの独立記念日パレード。ど田舎なのでたいした事ありませんが、何しろキャンデーをなげてもらえるので、子供達は大喜び。

ケイジャはずっと可愛がってくれてたけど、最後らへんはグランマが恋しくなり、ちょっと嫉妬してました。グランマの膝に抱っこしてもらいながら、小声でそっと自分がいつまでたってもグランマの一番好きなベビー？って確認してました。女の子って可愛いなぁ。

庭の畑でとれるサヤエンドウは光ちゃんの大好物でした。やっぱり畑っていいな、私もいつか欲しい。

Went up to a lake by TJ's sisters house. TJ and I went on a fishing date (one of our very few dates) when we first met. If you've seen my profile pic from facebook...ya, it was taken here.

ここはTJと私の数少ないデートスポット。ここで釣りデートしました。あの頃が懐かしい。青春、あまりにも短かった。

Wow 6 months already?? I was looking through Koe's pictures today and couldn't believe how much he's grown!!

He had his 6 month check up this week, and he's growing like a weed. He didn't even scream during his shots. He just cried a little and that was it. Tough baby....for that day...I guess. He usually wants his Momma.

Baby Shower

My friend Tawnya and Sister Briggs from church threw me an amazing Baby shower when I was pregnant with Koe. At the shower, Tawnya told me she had just found out she became pregnant!

Now after almost 9 months, it was my turn to throw her a baby shower! I had so much fun preparing it...Thanks Tawnya for letting me do it :)

アメリカではよく結婚、出産の時に家族やお友達が花嫁や妊婦さんの為にシャワー（パーティー）を開くことになっています。出産前に必需品を揃えるお手伝いみたいなもの。

お友達のタニアは私が妊婦の時にすごい大きいシャワーを開いてくれました。おかげでオムツや毎日使うものはしばらく買わずにすみました。

タニアが妊娠し、来月男の子が産まれるので今度は私の番です。なんといっても今回は私の初めてのシャワー。緊張でした。でもなんとか終わりホッとしています。楽しいパーティーになってよかた。

Baby Bottle drink off...Zoe (one of our YW girls) won! She was fast!

シャワーではいつも妊娠、赤ちゃん、出産に関連している楽しいゲームも用意しなければいけません。これはボトルから誰が早く飲めるかの競争。一番若い子が勝ちました。

We drew a picture of a pregnant woman on a paper plate...it was hilarious. I think Tawnya's was the funniest.

これは紙皿に妊婦の絵を見ずに書くコンテスト。へたくそな絵がおもしろかった。

I've always wanted to make a Diaper Cake. So I did...

最近はやっているのがオムツケーキ。オムツを丸めてケーキをつくります。だいたいこれに９０枚くらい使ったかな？　（TJさんは病院で格安でオムツを買えるのでラッキー）

Eat Eat Eat

Koe is getting much better at eating solids. At first, he hated it. Now he rather play with it, but he manages to eat some :) He loves to grab his spoon and won't let it go so it takes a while to feed him.

I didn't realize how annoying it is to make baby foods. I have to make it in small portions, cook them longer, then lot of mashing, and pureeing foods. It's all worth it when this little man eats them and makes his yum yum face.

光ちゃんは最近やっとお粥を食べてくれるようになりました。最初はオエッ　オエッと言いながら食べていましたが、今は遊びながら何とか食べるように。スプーンをもったら離さへんので食べさすのにえらい時間がかかります。でもちゃんと作ったごはんを食べてくれるとやっぱり嬉しいです。

Hope he still likes spinach when he grows up!

Koe rolling over part 2

Koe has been rolling over a lot lately. It took him a while to finally roll over from his back to his stomach. He loves the fact that he can reach things around him and he does it all day.

最近、仰向けからうつ伏せに寝返りできるようになりました。いつも得意そうにゴロンと起き上がり、今まで届かなかったものに触れるようになり嬉しそうです。ベビーベッドの中でもよく体制が変わってます。今日の朝なんか泣いてるなーと思っていってみると、腕立てして泣いてました。だっこするとオシッコタレ。すごいな、腕立てしながらおしっこできるなんて。

Butterfly House

There is a Butterfly House in Toledo. We thought this place would be an "Ok" place but when we got there we were surrounded by hundreds of Butterflies :) and few giant Moths..(they were so cool but gross) Now I know what it's like to live in a Butterfly Paradise. It was a really great place!

先週の土曜日に家族で蝶々を見に行ってきました。すんごいいっぱいいてびっくり！何百匹もいて頭や肩にとまってきたよ。パラダイス気分でした。ちなみにでっかい蛾もいた。モスラみたいでちょっと気持ち悪かった。やっぱり何でも毛深いと可愛さがなくなるというか。。

Memorial Day Weekend

We had another great visit with our family in Notre Dame. Since we stayed at a hotel this time, the kids were able to swim in a BIG pool.

It was so awesome to watch them play!

先週はメモリアルデーの週末だったので、またまたノートルダムまで遊びにいってきました。望んちはお引っ越しにむけてパッキングをしているのでずうずうしくお泊まりさせてもらう訳にはいかず、ホテルに泊まったので子供達と一緒にプールで遊ぶ事ができました。楽しかったー！私も一応入りましたが、寒くてすぐにジェットバスに移動。プールの後、ホテルの部屋で皆で映画とポップコーンを食べてもう最高に楽しかったです。

This is one of my favorites.

この坊ちゃんはもうお兄ちゃんなので顔を水につけたり、深い所にひとりでいったりとなかなか冒険してました。

今回は光ちゃんはプールお預け。水着なし、オムツなしだとみんなのプールが閉鎖される確率大なので。塩素がかなりキツく、水に入ってなくても目がしみて痛かった。

Tooth #3

Koe is getting his 3rd tooth. He was finally starting to sleep better from last teething and now he's getting a new one! This baby is growing non-stop.

He tries to bite anything he can reach and loves to bite my hand everyday. It hurts!

Teething makes him extra needy for mommy but he's starting to reach out his arm when he wants to be held and that makes me want to hold him all day long...

TJ says I'm creating another "Monster". (Translation: Momma's boy just like TJ)

光ちゃんの３本目の歯が生えてきました。おかげでまた夜あんまり寝れなくなり、ちょっとしんどい。どんどん大きくなってます。今週で６ヶ月になります。あっという間やねー。

歯が生えているのでなんでもカミカミしたがります。そしてよく手を噛まれます。死ぬ程痛いです。

ビデオでは光ちゃんプーさんをカミカミ。野良犬も顔負けです。

やっぱり歯が生えると気持ち悪いらしく、機嫌も悪くなります。だからいつも以上にマミーに抱っこされ、TJはちょっとママッ子になるんちゃうと心配です。

Koe Lately

It's amazing to see Koe's personality coming out lately! He's like a new person everyday and make us laugh by doing new things, making making funny faces. He is starting to sleep well again (thank goodness his teething is done...for now...) and he's so happy.

He does have a little separation anxiety (only when he's tired or hungry though) so he stares at people and cries a little when a stranger holds him. Most of the time he's ok.

He is also getting super strong. He's not a fragile new born baby anymore. Everything he does is very "Boyish" like banging toys to his head, and punching and kicking mommy and daddy.

Koe is a good baby especially when we take him out. Good baby at restaurants, in a car, and at stores. Helps me out a lot. :)

光ちゃんは最近もっと性格がはっきりしてきました。毎日新しい事をするので見ていて楽しいです。歯が２本はえ終わったので夜もよく寝てくれるようになりました。　よかったー。

最近人見知りもするので、人の顔を見過ぎやろと思うくらい見つめます。そしてお腹がすいていたり、眠たいときにだっこされると、口をへの字にまげて泣きべそかきます。面白い顔なのでもっとやってほしいと思います。

やる事全部男の子です。力も強くなって毎日マミー、パパをパンチ、キックです。

May 5th is also a Holiday is Japan. It's a Boys' Day. (Girls' Day is 0n March 3rd)

Since it's Koe's first, it should be a bid deal...

On May 5th, parents who have boys at home celebrate the day by hanging Coy fish flags and Put a Samurai Armor in their living room. Armor symbolizes protection from any harm to our sons. Wishing health and strength for our children is a universal thing, and even though I live in the States, I still want to practice my tradition and pass it on to my children.

Since I don't have any coy fish or an armor, I made coy chirashi-sushi! Shrimp, smoked salmon, avocados, and lots of eggs! It was actually TJ's first too so he was happy to celebrate with us.

今日は光ちゃんの初めての子供の日なので何かしようと思いましたが、鯉のぼりとかぶとはうちには残念ながらありません。

という事で、鯉のぼりちらし寿司をつくりました。うちのTJは何事やねんと思ったみたいですが、これはあんたの初めての子供の日でもあるんやでというと、かなり嬉しそうにお寿司を食べるのを待っているようでした。エビとスモークサーモン、アボカド。あとは全部タマゴ〜〜。

Usually during a holiday like this, I would like to eat a big Red Snapper but of course, I live in Ohio so I got a White Bass instead.

普段こんなめでたい日にゃ鯛なんて魚が食べたいもんですが、何しろオハイオなんて地味な所に住んでるもんやからホワイトバス。

Another thing we do back home is make an Origami Kabuto. It's an armor helmet. Since I don't have a big armor in my living room, I decided to make a newspaper kabuto for Koe. I made him wear a traditional Japanese baby bib too...According to TJ, this bib looks like a girly swim suite. I agree, but it's cute and I won't take him outside OK!?

光ちゃんが産まれる前に日本でこの金太郎の服を買ったのさ。とってもお似合い。TJはこれ見て、ちょっとそれ女の子の水着やろみたいなこと言ってアセってました。やっぱりアメ人には分からないのね。

Notre Dame Tailgate

We visited our family in Indiana during the annual Notre Dame "Blue and Gold" football game. I had a chance to go to a real tailgate for the first time so it was pretty awesome!

It started to rain pretty bad so we decided watching the football game in the cold for 4 hours was not the best for our kids...but the kids really enjoyed face painting.

先週またノートルダムまで遊びに行きました。フットボールを観に行く予定だったけど、雨が激しく降ってきたので、お昼を食べて帰る事にしましたが、テールゲイトのテントの中で子供達はフェイスペイントをしてもらいました。

花ちゃんはピンクのメイクがかなり嬉しかったようです。

Yes, his first tooth is out! I was cleaning his gum and felt something sharp...

What the!?.....

and there it is! For the past 3 weeks, he became super fussy, drooled, and wanting to be held all day...he also started to wake up every 2 hours during the night...

Now he sleeps better......but when does he stops teething?

If I wake up in the morning and he has full set of teeth, I'm ok with that...

なんか最近すごい機嫌悪くて、よだれもすごかったし、抱っこずっとしてほしがってたし。夜はちなみに２時間おきに起きてた。

お医者さんと看護婦さんなんか抱き癖ついてますねーとかいうし、教会でもまだ早いよーとか。

母親の私にはずーっと分かってました。　歯です、歯。

We had our Stake Dance (Mock Prom) last Saturday and my YW girls worked so hard to decorate our jym...They were so excited for this dance and some girls even made their own dress!

うちのステークの青少年のダンスが先週ありまして、どうやらダンスのうちでもプロムなのでうちの若い女性達の張り切りようはいつもよりすごかったのです。しかも場所はうちのワード。飾り付けがしんどい。でも皆頑張って夜遅くまで教会にいて終わらせました。

ある子なんか、その後家に帰って自分のドレスを朝の７時までかけて作ってた。すごい。気合い入ってまっせ。

うちの若い女性達。ダンスは１４歳から１８歳までやから、全員じゃないけど。みんな頑張っておめかししてました。可愛かったよー。

TJは光ちゃんを連れてちょっと見にきました。ついでに一緒に初めてのダンスでの写真撮影をとってもらった。アメリカではこういうフォーマルなダンスでは記念撮影をするらしいのです。

Man, I don't even have it. He's only 3 months...what's going on!?

He still got his crazy amount of hair but I discovered his bald spot behind his ear....it's not that he's loosing them, but he's been pulling them out.......and apparently, he's been eating them because I've been seeing some left overs...who does that!? I mean, do you think he's stressed out or something? What can a baby stressed out about??

So there's a spot which is a size of a quarter that is completely bald...Rest of his hair is super long, so he looks like he's going through a chemo...

3/15/2008! Happy Anniversary to us :) It was a freezing day in American Fork 2 years ago, but it was a happy day. TJ and I dated FOREVER before we got married......like 6 months....

So after we got married, it still felt like we were dating and getting to know each other. Oh man, we found out lots of things about each other! :) Don't worry, we love each other. We even have a baby to prove it.

あっという間に２年経っちゃいました。付き合って６ヶ月後に結婚。TJはよく私にグリーンカード目当てに結婚したんやろ？と言います。そうです。なんちゃって。はは。

私は彼に３０になったから焦って誰でもよかったんちゃう？って言い返します。だぶんそうだったと思う。笑。

Since TJ is on call tonight, we weren't going to go out for dinner....but TJ got off early so he took us out to dinner at "Revolver" in downtown. A very cute restaurant...They buy local fresh produce, so I guess the menu changes everyday...I should have taken a picture of that bathroom...It was ORANGE everything...Megan would love it.

Since our favorite thing to do is eating good food so I will post pics of everything we ate tonight... :)

今晩は夜勤のはずだったので、何もしない予定でしたが、TJが思ったよりも帰ってくるのが早かったのでご飯食べに連れてってくれました。行ったのは、りぼるばー。ひらがなで書いたら全然可愛くないけど、キュートなレストランでした。ここのシェフさん、旬のものを使ってメニューを決めるので、毎日メニューが変わるらしいです。

Ha! just kidding...it's a popcorn soup! Surprisingly, it was very yummy.

ウェイトレスが持ってきたのは何やらお酒みたいな飲み物。ちっちゃい。んんん！ポップコーンスープですって。でもコーンポタージュみたいでおいしかった。

Koe is a super good baby. I'm lucky to have him. He just sat there smiling, and fell asleep before my main dish came out.

光ちゃんは相変わらずいい子。笑顔振りまいて、サラダの後に寝た。

オーガニック野菜、ヘーゼルナッツ、赤梨、ブルーチーズのサラダ。かなり相性が良い。

TJ had a Lake Erie Perch Tempura with Ponzu and Dashi broth for an appetizer. (No photo sorry)

彼の前菜はエリー湖でとれたスズキの天ぷら。だしも日本の味でした。やるじゃん、りぼるばー。

His main course was.....a Wabbit!!! with Olives, Potatoes, and Red Wine sauce.

TJが頼んだのは、う　　さ　　ぎ！　ぴょ　ぴょ〜ん。　おいしかった。でも白身の部分はかしわみたいやった。

TJ bought me flowers! and I made him a Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake with Chocolate covered Strawberries. After dinner, dessert, and a movie, TJ got called in from the hospital and left for a surgery. Perfect timing!

今日よっぽどお花買うか迷ったけど、かわなくて良かった。

張り切ってチョコレートケーキ作った。アメリカのクリームは砂糖の固まりやねん。だから日本風に生チョコクリームでっせ。めっさ、うっめー！

Thanks TJ for the past 2 years...Maybe we'll celebrate in Italy in 8 years? Huh? Huh? What do you think dear? No? Okay, Tahiti then....sounds good?

3 months old already?! Koe is such a good baby, and I feel pretty lucky. He is sleeping well (although, I wish he would sleep through the night...) and eats a lot! He's pretty much a Happy baby all the time...

It's been amazing to see his personality come out more everyday. He talks so much...it's cute right now but I wonder how he'd be when he's 5 years old! Ha! He also tries to sing along with me when I sing to him....and he's pretty loud.

He loves his bath time! I'm just glad he doesn't poo in it anymore :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

He makes me feel loved unconditionally everyday, and it's a pretty awesome feeling. He doesn't know his mom is NOT perfect....yet........

光ちゃんは３ヶ月になりました。あっという間に赤ちゃんって大きくなるのね。。。毎日おしゃべりしてどんどん口が達者になってきてます。私が歌うと一緒に歌おうとしてかなりうるさい。でも毎日笑わしてもらってます。

足がかなり強くなってきて、ずーっとキックしたがったり、立たせてくれーって怒ります。顔も凛々しくなってきたり、身振り動作もやっぱり男の子だなーって感じます。すごいね、赤ちゃんなのに。

お外に連れていってもずっとカーシートの中で寝てくれたり、私が教会の集会にいっても文句も言わず家で粉ミルク飲んでくれたりと、（ただの食いしん坊やねんけどね）母親思いの赤ちゃんです。今のところはかなり楽さしてもらってます。

オハイオにも春が来たようで、今週はすごく暖かかったのでお外に連れて行くことができました。冬の子なので全然お散歩もできてなかったし。夏が楽しみです。

We took Larry and Joan to Kirtland last weekend. We had such a great time since it was first time for Larry and Joan to visit the Kirtland Temple. We also had a chance to drive to Middlefield, which is the second biggest area for Amish population. It was so cool to see so many carriages on the road.

Koe is getting his tummy time lately...he hates it. I put him on my boppy today and he seems to be liking this much better than just being on the floor.

Everywhere I go, I see people talking about his hair....I mean, I can't hear them, but I can read their lips and obviously they're saying "H-A-I-R"...He looks tall because of it. It's getting out of control.

光ちゃんはうつ伏せが嫌いなんです。でも毎日練習させてます。すぐにキレます。

あ、ちょっと顔が引きつってきた。
髪の毛がかなり立ってきたんです。アメリカの赤ちゃんはチャーリーブラウンみたいにツンツルテンの子がほとんどなんで、光ちゃんをみると皆絶対髪の毛にコメントします。かなりボーボーです。

TJ's Parents flew out here couple of weeks ago to see our Baby Koe. We LOVE having them here! Koe loves Grandma and Grandpa since they give him so much attention. They are such a great help, I can go work out, clean, shop, and everything I need to accomplish! I'm so lucky to have awesome in-laws...and I'm not saying that because my mother in-law read this blog! Ha! Joan, I love you.

Koe is sleeping 3-4 hours now....What a huge difference that makes! I actually have enough energy during the day to work out.

He smiles all the time now...my favorite is in the middle of the night when both of us are tired and sleepy, he would try so hard to stay awake and smile and "Cooo" at me.

My sister and her two kids flew in from Utah, so I drove up to Indiana to see all of my nieces and nephews (on my side of the family) last week. It was the first time for Koe to meet his cousins and they all loved him and wanted to hold him. They were so good with him.

My Brother in-law Brandon is a great photographer so we asked him to take pictures of them...so I will post the ones he took later...this is from our camera. It was chaotic, but fun! Lots of candies to make' em sit still!!!! Can you tell everyone's chewing on something? ;)

My nephews are so into Japanese Power Rangers type shows...This is my baby nephew wearing his mask...he would wear it all day long!

Koe is getting chubby. He started to smile when we talk to him this week. He is so alert and loves to be held all day long. He tries to talk when he wants attention and stares at us when TJ and I are arguing...ooops! I feel really bad about that...haha.

He is getting slowly better at sleeping at night. He sleeps for 2-3 hours instead of 1 to 1.5 hours. For some reason, he sleeps forever in a car seat and he immediately stops crying and falls asleep when we go out. Weird.

It's a miracle that I can update my blog right now...Since Koe was being held all night last night, I feel pretty exhausted...and he was still asking me to hold him all morning...

So I decided to let him cry to see how long it takes for him to fall asleep by himself (I had so many things I needed to get done!). This wasn't my first time trying it...in the past, I let him cry for 20 minutes straight and 1 hr straight but how can a new mother like me can ignore her baby when he needs her? My mom told me to give it a try again this morning, so I was determined to let him cry til he fell asleep ( of course I was watching him the whole time while I worked on my computer)...

30 min...50 min...1 hour....

2 hours later he finally closed his eyes. Poor Koe, he was all sweaty from crying too long!

Do you think I'm a crazy mom for doing that?

I admire all the moms with several kids and working moms! I don't know how they can accomplish things at home!

My visiting teachee is a very talented woman, she makes pioneer dresses, and costume dresses professionally, and as our baby shower present, she made Koe's baby blassind suite and a bonnet! TJ thought the bonnet was for girls but she used Muslin for this suite so I thought he looked like a cute pioneer baby!

Koe is now a month old and I can't believe it's been a month already since he arrived. TJ and I really enjoy the changes we see in him everyday.

He can make noise like "awoo" or "coo" when you talk to him. He gives me a weird look when he poops, like "what was that?"...He loves Daddy TJ and stares at him when he hears his deep voice.

He's also a big time Sneezer like me...he sneezes like 4 times in a row. My family was here and they all have said Koe does NOT look like me...except the corner of his eyes... it's the "hidden Asian" (If you've seen the movie Peter Pan...Wendy has a "hidden kiss" in the corner of her lips)

He eats 24/7 and I can't even put him down for more than 5 sec...Oh well...I often think "I should have taken more naps when I was pregnant!"

He had his 1 month check up today!

He is 10 lbs (75 percentile), 23 inches (95 percentile)! He is a tall baby ;)

We had Koe's baby blessing on Sunday 1/3/2010. My parents and my sister's family were here. TJ gave a beautiful blessing for Koe. It was wonderful to see TJ being a Father with a priesthood.

We hope to visit Utah to see our family soon!

Koe's getting big

Koe was 8 lbs 1 oz when he was born, and he lost some weight within the first week down to 7 lbs 11 oz...We went to a doctors office after 10 days and he was 8 lbs 7 1/2 oz!

He is getting chuncky already and his cheeks are fuller now. I was worried he wasn't eating enough but never mind! He is constantly eating...pooping...spitting up....and eating again...He doesn't really look like he's 2 weeks old either.

We had a nice Christmas morning with my parents. We opened our presents and just hung out all day watching TV. We missed all our families in Utah, and all over the states!
TJ got us a surprise present this year...(we weren't going to buy presents for each other this year...)
He got us a Jym membership! I've been totally wanting to get back into shape so that was the best present ever! They even watch your baby while you work out ;) I easily lost 20 lbs after the pregnancy but I still got a long way to go until I can wear my old skinny jeans!!! Wish me luck!

2 weeks

Koe turned 2 weeks old on Monday. It's so much fun to see his face change everyday. He started to show his personality more and I can tell when he's mad, sad, or just wants to be held.

Last night, He turned by himself when he was asleep. I put him down (on his back) facing me, and when I woke up to check on him, he was on his tummy facing the other way....turning 270 degrees....I thought he choked to death and I almost crapped my pants but he was fine. I'm sure it's just this one time and hope he doesn't do it again for a while...

He's a great kicker. I knew that from when he was still in my tummy but He kicks a LOT! He was so mad during his bath time and he stood up straight in the middle of the tub the other day (of course we were holding him)...

We have decided to name our baby "KOE". In Japan, every name has a meaning. Koe in Japanese means "Sunbeam" or "Light".

Our son Koe Jack Caldwell arrived on 12/7/09! My due date was on 12/6 but I was scheduled to be induced the next day at 6 am. Turns out he didn't need to be induced, because my contractions started on Sunday (12/6) night. When I arrived to the hospital at 6 am, I was already dilated to 4 cm. Within an hour it was 5 cm. No much pain at all, but I've decided to get an epidural then.

Everyone thought he would arrive sooner but it took about good 11 hours for him to arrive. I was able to rest well for his arrival, and around a5:oo pm, I was ready to push.

It only took about 30 min to push him and baby Koe was on my tummy! He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz, 21 1/4 inches long. He was bigger than we all thought he would be!

TJ was a great supporter. He and I really enjoyed the experience together. My mom was, and still is a great help. They both supported me through the last week of the pregnancy and helped me so much after the birth of Koe.

I am truly happy to have my baby now. I still can't believe that he's mine, but I can't imagine living without him. He brought such a joy into our lives and TJ and I were able to grow even closer as a family because of him. I love TJ even more for giving me such a wonderful baby.

Baby Koe is a great baby. He started to show his personality this week and he's a pretty cool little guy. He is a good eater, and loves to be held all the time. We had to take turns to hold him in the beginning because he just wanted to be cuddly all the time. I am blessed to have plenty of milk to feed him (thanks to mom for her breastfeeding skills!) Koe started to sleep really well since last night and I was able to sleep pretty well for the first time since I've been home.

We thank all of you who said many prayers for us, and sent us many gifts! I will post more pictures as soon as get a chance!

Baby Birthday coming up

My due date was today 12/6...I'm scheduled to have my baby tomorrow 12/7, and we are excited, anxious, and nervous....I asked to be induced on Monday but they told me that I had to be on the waiting list. They called me this afternoon and told me someone had cancelled so I need to come in at 6 am tomorrow morning! Earlier today, I had some signs of having my baby so I would probably go into labor tomorrow anyway. Finally....I get to see my boy.

I'm really glad TJ took a week off of work so we can spend time as a family. I'm also grateful for my mom who's here to help us out.

3rd Trimester Misery

I didn't expect to be this miserable in this third trimester since the second trimester was amazing.

I'm getting to the point where I just want my baby to come out! I don't care if I go into labour during Thanksgiving!

Our Weekend Visit

My Sister Nozomi's Family came to visit us last weekend. TJ and I loved having the kids with us and we had so much fun together...

Tyler is 5 and he's really into drawing, cutting papers, and playing outside. He is a very intelligent boy, and loves to talk about Power Rangers or any type of Super Heroes, and he's a good big brother to his siblings...

Hannah is 3 and she's all about Princesses. She's shy, and so kind. When she was taking a bath at my house, she was looking down at her own tummy. She said she wished her tummy was big like mine...

Sage is 1, but he's already a little man! He recently broke his arm but he's still so active! He's a great dancer. He reminds me of Nozomi when she was younger. He's like a little Jack-Jack from the movie the Incredibles.

I'm never bored when I'm around my nieces and nephews.

Lamaze Class #2

We actually enjoyed our second class much better than the first. We had a pediatrician from the hospital and he gave us tons of infomation that I didn't even know. We also got to take a tour on the OB floor.

One thing we learned last night was how to make your baby sleep through the night (5-6hrs)...

This Doctor told us to put our baby to bed when he's still awake (do it when he comes home, and up to 6 months). Then the baby will learn how to sleep by himself and fall back to sleep when he wakes up. He also said when the baby is used to having someone holding, and rocking him while he falls asleep, that will be the only way he can go to bed. Therefore, we will turn into Zombies...

I'm not even sure if this will help but we are willing to give it a try. What do you think?? Most of you are already experienced mothers...let me know if that's true or not!

It's Halloween time again! We finally carved pumpkins last night as FHE activity. Now that I think about it, our first date was actually on Halloween 2 years ago...

2 years ago on Halloween...............

My day off

6:30 am Drove to SLC airport to see my sister Sachi leave to Japan since she completed her mission at Temple Square. My nephew Caden dressed up as a Yellow Duck for her. I drove home and started getting ready.

11:30 am Drove back to the airport again to pick up "Tyler Caldwell"...He was a 29 yr old graduate student at Kansas University who was flying home for his 2 week vacation, and I was about to spend the next 8 hours with this boy on a date.

12:00 pm Lunch at Cafe Rio. TJ gave me a KU hoodie and a T-shirt for my birthday present.

1:00 pm Went to a park to just talk and hang out...we were there for about 20 minutes until TJ's parents called us and asked us to meet them somewhere (They were in town for a doctor's visit).

1:30 pm Meeting Joan and Larry. Didn't even realize they would be my future in-laws. We hung out at a Chinese restaurant for a while...

3:00-4:00 pm Drove down to American Fork where TJ was staying...at his sister's house. Met his sister Cindy and her family.

Just hung out at Cindy's house for the rest of the night.

TJ wasn't really planning on going out with me again if the date went weird or there was no chemistry, but lucky for me, he decided to go out with me again while he was in Utah. He He.

Six months later, we were married..

Our First Lamaze Class

So we just completed our first childbirth class tonight...I have 2 more classes left...The instructor was pretty cool, but I think I knew most of the things they talked about in this class ( I was there when my nephew and niece were born).

It was funny to see all the husbands in class looked so awkward and uncomfortable. When each of us had to introduce ourselves like When we're having our babies, where we live, and what's the biggest concern about the childbirth...

All of the guys answered, "I'm just concerned about the baby's health and my wife..."

So when it was TJ's turn, he was like, "I'm worried about my sleep (after the baby comes) and diaper changing.................pause..........and oh, I guess my wife's health"

Then we had to practice how to relax during pain so the instructor asked every partner to give us pain while we practice our breathing...Of course, TJ thought that was the best part of the whole class.

He pretty much grabbed my head and pushed the pressure point behind my jaw bone while I tried to concentrate breathing...I wish I had a picture of it, it looked pretty weird since everyone else was just pinching arms and legs and stuff...

I guess the class wasn't so bad but I'm not sure if I'm super excited to go back next week...we'll see what happens...

Utah Trip #3

We were able to go to some of our niece's and nephew's school activities. On Wednesday night, we went to their flag football game, and on Friday, we went to Gunnison Valley High's football game. It was freezing but fun to just get out and do something that we don't usually get to do...(we just watch TV since we are pretty lonely out here in Ohio)

We drove up to Duck Fork (I'm not really sure what it's called) Lake to fish on Thursday. TJ's parents came with us, and it was too Windy and Cold to do anything outside! So we just walked around and came home...it was pretty up there though. TJ almost caught a fish (Henry) with his bare hands.

Aspen trees were so beautiful!

OK, so it was pretty up there but I don't think I can go back there again...The ride was so terrible. The road was bumpy the whole way and it took us 90 minutes to get there and we were going 20 mph...All of us were miserable I think...

We had so much fun in Utah. It always make us feel like we want to move back to the West to be closer to our family and friends. Thank you Joan and Larry for letting us stay for so long! We love you!

Utah Trip #2

On Monday (10/5), TJ, Joan, and I were able to drive up to Sandy to see my sister Ai, and her two kids. My best friends Rachael and Megan, her hubby Ryan drove down from SLC to see us! My sister made wonderful dinner for the party. They gave us gifts...! Wow, I got tons of stuff from everyone, I had to borrow an extra bag from Joan to bring everthing home...

Utah Trip #1

TJ and I visited UT for the General Conference week. It was great to be in Gunnison and see everyone we love! Since last Sunday was my Birthday and we had the best BBQ ever!

Joan made her famous Macaroni salad, Cindy brought her wounderful Salsa, Lance brought his amazing Salami salad, Curt made his yummy baked beans, Carrie made this awesome cake ;) TJ and I were there to eat them all! I feel like we always stuff ourselves when we are with our family.

Back from Japan

The past 3 weeks in Japan has gone by so quickly, and now I'm back in Ohio with my TJ. It's so nice to be back and spend time with my husband, but I also miss my family greatly. The trip was so much fun. The flight from Tokyo to SLC was only 8 hours since we arrived 1 hr early....so it wasn't bad at all! Caden and Maya were fantastic in the plane!

Before we left, my Uncle and my Aunt who lives upstairs invited us for a family dinner. It was just like old times. My cousin's kids Yuma and Umi were there and they were such great friends with Caden and Maya.

First time we tried to go to the zoo, it was closed...so these pictures are from the second trip!

One thing I NEEDED to do while I was home was to go to a sushi restaurant. The day before I left, my parents took us out for sushi and, we went to a Bath house (Onsen) later. It was the best!

My sister Ai is so funny...she saves her favorite sushi "Giant eel" until the very end. She does that EVERYTIME...

At Kansai airport. My uncle and aunt came to say good bye. Thanks for everything Mom and Dad! I will see you in few months!!

Ok, so now I'm back in the States and I'm still adjusting from my jet lag. I would get tired and sleepy around 5-7 pm...and sleep til 3-4 am...it's getting better though.

TJ is a great help. He cleaned the whole apartment for me so I can come home to a clean house. (he seems to do that for me everytime I leave town)

While I was in Japan, I wanted to get a lunch box (bento box) for TJ since he's been using a ghetto plastic container for his lunch...everyone in Japan uses this bento box for lunch.

So this is TJ's first luch box to work...I guess his boss saw the seaweed hearts and told him, "That's not gonna last!" (the newly-wed love thing) Ha ha ha...well TJ, enjoy while it lasts.

Camp

We went to Nara to camp with some friends from our Stake last week. The water was pretty cold so my mom didn't let me swim :( I had so much fun even though I was huge and couldn't do anything.

We also had some fireworks at night. Kids loved it.

I'm finally in Japan! We went to Kyoto today to visit our family grave where it's located next to the famous shrine "Kiyomizu"...I have forgotten how humid and hot it is here during the summer, I thought we all were going to die...
Mom bought me a cucumber on a stick! Since I saw my friend Rui's pictures, I have been craving for it! They are perfectly salted and tasted awesome on a hot day...

This is our family grave, during the national Holiday "Obon", families in Japan would gather together and visit their graves to welcome their ancestors visit from the other world. It's kinda like Memorial Day and Halloween together...

We had our ultra sound appointment yesterday! We were so excited to see our baby moving a lot and being healthy. We also found out our baby's gender!

It's a Baby BOY!

I am so excited to have a baby boy. He'll arrive on December 6. The problem is, we have no idea what we're going to name this baby...all we could come up with was girl names...oh well, we'll figure something out.
